Since its establishment, the association has been committed to providing essential medications necessary for the continuous care of patients’ lives, such as iron chelation drugs, hydroxyurea treatment, folic acid, and other medications like pain relievers, intravenous solutions, and antibiotics. This is vital for maintaining the patient’s health, preventing deterioration, and reducing complications. Continued support from official authorities, organizations, institutions, and commercial companies is essential to uphold the association’s social responsibility and humanitarian duty towards this suffering group of patients.
Providing Safe Blood for Patients
Providing safe blood for patients with thalassemia and hereditary blood disorders is one of the association’s key objectives. In collaboration with relevant authorities at the Ministry of Public Health and Population, the National Blood Transfusion and Research Center, Public Health Laboratories, and other blood banks in hospitals, we have successfully secured this service over the past years. The association also contributes to organizing blood donation campaigns at universities, colleges, institutes, and other institutions, as well as coordinating with patient families regarding blood transfusion appointments for their children. We also raise awareness on how to coordinate with voluntary donors, particularly those with rare blood types, and promote the importance of blood donation, highlighting the benefits for both the donor and the patient.
Providing Diagnostic and Care Services
Hundreds of new cases reach the association’s treatment centers annually. Many of these cases are diagnosed by the specialized medical and consulting team, and their registration is completed, with an enrollment card issued, allowing them to benefit from the healthcare and therapeutic services provided during visits. These services include medical examinations, nursing care, diagnostic tests, and available medications.
