Mr. Abdullah Ibrahim Al-Jad’ee, Head of the Department of Relations and Media at the association, represented the association yesterday, November 2, 2019, to discuss a scientific research on the prevalence rate of Thalassemia and Sickle Cell Anemia based on the statistics of the Thalassemia and Genetic Blood Disorders Care Center in Sana’a. This research was prepared by a group of students from the Laboratory Department at the German College of Medical and Technical Sciences as part of their diploma requirements in the field of laboratory studies.
The committee was composed of Dr. Nagy Babaker, Chairman of the Board at the college, Dr. Mohammed Al-Omari, Dean of the College, Dr. Hamood Babaker, Vice Dean, and Mr. Abdullah Ibrahim Al-Jad’ee, Head of the Department of Relations and Media at the association. Conducting such research, studies, and graduation projects clearly reflects the eradication of ignorance among young people, the level of awareness achieved by the association within the community, and serves as an important source of health education regarding the importance of early medical testing before marriage. This is essential to help the community avoid these chronic diseases.
