On Tuesday, November 12, 2019, the Yemeni Society for Thalassemia and Hereditary Blood Disorders participated in a scientific discussion symposium organized by the Faculty of Dentistry at Al-Hadara University, attended by a number of doctors and medical professionals from various Yemeni universities.
During the symposium, Mr. Abdullah Ibrahim Al-Jad’ei, Head of Public Relations and Media at the Society, delivered an awareness lecture—accompanied by scientific discussions—on the risks of thalassemia and hereditary blood disorders and methods of prevention. He emphasized to the attendees the importance of raising public awareness about the necessity of early premarital medical screening, as it remains the most effective method to protect future generations from these chronic conditions.
This participation is part of the continuous efforts of the Society’s Awareness and Education Department, which actively coordinates with universities, centers, and academic institutes to organize awareness events and campaigns aimed at enhancing community awareness.
