In a visit carrying profound meanings of humanitarian solidarity and official support, Mr. Mohammed Hassan Oqabat, Undersecretary of the Care Sector at the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor, conducted an inspection visit to the therapeutic center of the Yemen Society for Thalassemia and Genetic Blood Disorders (YSTH). The visit aimed at checking on the conditions of patients and reviewing the quality of medical and care services provided to them.
This generous visit comes to shed light on a segment dear to everyone’s hearts, one that faces immense health challenges and requires all state entities and civil society organizations to stand united to extend a helping hand and ensure the continuity of their lifeline and sustainable medical care.
During his tour of the therapeutic center’s departments, the Undersecretary closely observed the mechanism of laboratory testing, medical follow-ups, and the dispensing of medications, praising the exceptional efforts made by the center’s staff under the current circumstances.
The Undersecretary also called for the necessity of combining official and public efforts to support preventive approaches aimed at saving future generations from the agony of genetic blood disorders.
Undersecretary Oqabat stated:
“We in the Ministry’s Care Sector will spare no effort in enhancing coordination with all relevant authorities to meet the needs of thalassemia and genetic blood disorder patients. We urge all entities and organizations to stand as supporters and funders for this segment, to alleviate their suffering and secure their pharmaceutical and medical needs.”
For its part, the society’s management expressed its deep gratitude and profound appreciation for this visit by the Ministry’s Undersecretary. It emphasized that his presence and inspection of the patients represent a major moral solace and genuine support for the administration and medical staff, reflecting the social leadership’s awareness of its humanitarian responsibility. The Director-General of the society added that this gesture will serve as a great drive and incentive to continue defying challenges and developing the services and medical care provided to the beneficiaries.
