The Yemen Society for Thalassemia and Genetic Blood Disorders today, Saturday, 11 Safar 1448 AH (July 25, 2026 AD), received third-year Medical Laboratories students from Al-Rasheed Smart University on an educational visit to the Society’s Treatment Center. The visit was part of a program aimed at bolstering practical skills and connecting academic knowledge with clinical and humanitarian reality.
During the visit, the students explored the center’s departments and the medical and therapeutic services offered to patients. They also received an overview of the disease, diagnostic and treatment protocols, the challenges patients face, and the Society’s role in offering healthcare and psychosocial support.
The visit featured an awareness lecture addressing the latest concepts in thalassemia and genetic blood disorders, the significance of early diagnosis, premarital screening, and raising community awareness to curb the spread of these conditions.
The Society emphasized that such educational visits contribute to preparing health cadres who are more mindful of the humanitarian dimension of the profession, while strengthening collaboration with academic institutions to enhance healthcare quality and the future of services provided to thalassemia and genetic blood disorder patients.
