In a humanitarian scene reflecting the values of solidarity and social responsibility, the Yemen Society for Thalassemia and Genetic Blood Disorders (YSTH) welcomed today, Wednesday, Dhu al-Hijjah 24, 1447 AH, corresponding to June 10, 2026, a number of artists and media professionals. The delegation conducted a field visit to review the patients’ health conditions and learn firsthand about the nature of the services provided by the society.
During the visit, they listened to a detailed briefing on the challenges faced by patients with thalassemia and genetic blood disorders—foremost of which is the continuous need for safe blood transfusions and the provision of essential medicines and treatments. They were also briefed on the ongoing efforts made by the society to alleviate the patients’ suffering and improve their quality of life.
The artists and media professionals expressed their deep appreciation for the vital humanitarian role played by the society in patient care. They emphasized the critical importance of collective efforts from institutions, individuals, and the media to support this group, champion their humanitarian and health causes, and contribute to raising public awareness about genetic blood disorders and the significance of premarital screening to curb their prevalence.
This visit comes as part of the society’s ongoing efforts to strengthen partnerships with various public figures, media professionals, and artists, aims to amplify the voices and suffering of patients to the widest possible segment of society.
