Al-Sadara College for Medical and Technical Sciences, in coordination and cooperation with the Yemeni Society for Thalassemia and Genetic Blood Disorders and the National Blood Transfusion and Research Center, organized an awareness campaign on Monday, 16 Sha’ban 1445 AH (February 26, 2024). The campaign targeted college students and focused on the dangers, complications, and modes of transmission of thalassemia and genetic blood disorders, as well as methods of prevention.
A voluntary blood donation drive was also held in support of patients with thalassemia, sickle cell disease, and other individuals who rely on regular blood transfusions.
These efforts come as part of broader initiatives to promote prevention and help save the lives of thousands living with genetic blood disorders.
