As part of its ongoing efforts to raise health awareness and promote community understanding of hereditary blood disorders, the Yemen Society for Thalassemia and Genetic Blood Disorders (YSTH) conducted an awareness event today, Sunday, Rabi’ Al-Awwal 3, 1448 AH (corresponding to August 16, 2026 G), at Balqees Yemen College. The event highlighted the critical importance of prevention and early detection of hereditary blood disorders, particularly Thalassemia and Sickle Cell Anemia.
The event covered several health concepts and informative insights aimed at correcting common misconceptions surrounding hereditary blood diseases. It emphasized that prevention begins with knowledge and that pre-marital/early screening is a responsible step toward protecting families and society.
This activity aligns with YSTH’s strategy to strengthen health awareness within educational institutions and directly engage young people, recognizing them as essential partners in building a more informed community capable of preventing genetic disorders.
The leadership of the Society extends its sincere appreciation to the administration, faculty, and students of Balqees Yemen College for their warm reception, fruitful cooperation, commitment to social responsibility, and active support for health education initiatives.
