Continuing the ongoing struggle to save patients’ lives and strengthen childhood prevention efforts, Al-Razi University, in coordination and collaboration with the National Blood Transfusion and Research Center and the Yemeni Association for Thalassemia and Hereditary Blood Disorders, held a voluntary blood donation campaign on Wednesday, 9 Sha’ban 1444 AH, corresponding to March 1, 2023. The campaign aimed to support patients with thalassemia, hereditary blood disorders, and other patients in need.
Prior to the campaign, a number of university students visited the Association’s Therapeutic Center for awareness purposes. They also conducted an awareness campaign among the university student community to educate them about the risks of thalassemia and hereditary blood disorders, their modes of transmission, methods of prevention, the necessity of early screening and medical consultation before marriage, and the importance and benefits of blood donation.
