
The Direct Aid Society Yemen office, in cooperation with the Yemeni Society for Thalassemia and Hereditary Blood Disorders, distributed the Eid Al-Adha sacrifice project for the year 1439 AH / 2018 CE to hundreds of families affected by thalassemia and hereditary blood disorders.
This project aims to meet the meat needs of the poorest families and to bring joy and happiness to the hearts of orphans, patients, and others during the blessed Eid Al-Adha, as part of many relief projects organized by Direct Aid in Yemen.
The project targeted 200 families of thalassemia and hereditary blood disorder patients, reaching an estimated total of around 1,000 beneficiaries.
In a statement, the Executive Director of the Society, Mr. Jamil Ali Al-Khayati, expressed his gratitude to the Direct Aid Society and its Yemen office for their contribution to alleviating the suffering of families of thalassemia and hereditary blood disorder patients through supporting such humanitarian and relief projects.
He also praised the roles of the Planning and International Cooperation Office, the Social Affairs and Labor Office in the Capital Secretariat, and the National Authority for the Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs for their efforts in implementing the project.
The Executive Director emphasized that the Eid sacrifice project comes within the framework of joint cooperation to provide relief to a vulnerable segment exposed to a slow death due to disease and suffering, according to his words.
Al-Khayati called upon the Direct Aid Society and all local and international organizations to visit the Thalassemia and Hereditary Blood Disorder Care Center to witness the extent of the tragedy and suffering endured by the patients.
He added that they hope to expand the circle of partnership between their society and all organizations concerned with relief and health fields to alleviate the suffering of these patients and to integrate them into society.
