Thalassemia Center Hosts Awareness Session for Students from Al-Amjad Schools

Yesterday morning in Sana’a, the Thalassemia and Hereditary Blood Disorders Care Center welcomed a number of female students from Al-Amjad Model Schools.
During an awareness session held at the center, Mr. Saleh Al-Osaimi, Follow-up Officer of the Association’s Administrative Board, spoke to the students about the importance of premarital medical screening and the risks hereditary blood disorders pose to the future of couples, their children, and society at large.
Mr. Al-Osaimi addressed several issues related to thalassemia, hereditary blood disorders, and the painful future faced by children when premarital screening is neglected.
He urged the students to take on their moral and social responsibility by raising awareness among their families and communities about the necessity of medical screening to ensure the health of future children and prevent thalassemia and hereditary blood disorders. He emphasized that the wife is often the first victim who bears the consequences and impacts of neglecting premarital screening.
