Today, 17 Dhu al-Qi’dah 1447 AH (corresponding to May 4, 2026), the General Authority for Zakat launched an in-kind Zakat distribution project at the headquarters of the Yemen Society for Thalassemia and Genetic Blood Disorders. This initiative is part of the Authority’s ongoing efforts to alleviate the living hardships faced by families.
The inauguration was attended by Mr. Mahmoud Moqbel Al-Sharafi, General Director of Distribution and Disbursement at the General Authority for Zakat. He reviewed the distribution process and the mechanisms in place to ensure that aid reaches the most vulnerable and deserving patients.
Key Highlights of the Initiative:
- Recognition and Gratitude: The management of YSTH expressed its deep appreciation to the General Authority for Zakat, its leadership, and its staff for their continuous support. They emphasized that such humanitarian gestures significantly reduce the burden on families struggling with difficult health and economic conditions.
- Commitment to the Needy: Mr. Al-Sharafi praised the humanitarian role of the society and reaffirmed the Authority’s commitment to supporting projects that serve the most marginalized groups, in accordance with Sharia-mandated Zakat expenditures that prioritize the sick and the poor.
