The The Yemeni Society for Thalassemia and Genetic Blood Disorders welcomed on Sunday, September 28, 2025, a group of Medical Laboratory students from the Emirates International University. The visit aimed to raise awareness about the risks of hereditary blood diseases and the importance of premarital screening in reducing their spread, as part of the university’s community and educational initiatives.
As part of the ongoing partnership, the university organized on Monday a voluntary blood donation campaign in support of patients with thalassemia, hemolytic anemia, and others in need of blood transfusions, with wide participation from students and faculty members.
The Association expressed its appreciation for this humanitarian initiative, commending the Emirates International University’s significant role in supporting health and community causes, as well as the National Blood Transfusion and Research Center for its efforts in facilitating and organizing the donation process.
