The Department of Medical Laboratories at the College of Medicine and Health Sciences, International Emirates University, in coordination and cooperation with the Yemeni Society for Thalassemia and Hereditary Blood Disorders, organized an awareness campaign to educate the public about the risks, complications, modes of inheritance, and preventive measures of thalassemia and hereditary blood disorders.
Additionally, on Monday and Tuesday, September 23–24, 2024, a voluntary blood donation campaign was held at the university’s main gate in support of patients with thalassemia, hereditary blood disorders, and other patients dependent on blood transfusions, in coordination with the National Blood Transfusion and Research Center.
The Society’s management extends its sincere gratitude to International Emirates University and the National Center for their significant humanitarian efforts dedicated to protecting future generations and saving patients’ lives.
