In an atmosphere filled with optimism and confidence in a brighter future for patients with thalassemia and hereditary blood disorders in Yemen, the Yemen Society for Thalassemia and Genetic Blood Disorders held its General Assembly meeting last Thursday, 8 Jumada Al-Awwal 1447 AH, corresponding to October 30, 2025, to elect a new Administrative Board and Oversight Committee for the upcoming term. The meeting was attended and supervised by the Office of Social Affairs and Labor in the Capital Secretariat, with broad participation from members of the General Assembly.
During the meeting, attendees reviewed the Society’s journey, its activities, and achievements over the past years, along with the financial and administrative reports and the Oversight Committee’s report and recommendations for the newly elected Board to adopt in the coming phase, contributing to enhancing performance and advancing its humanitarian mission.
Participants expressed their satisfaction in taking part in this important event, extending their sincere appreciation to the outgoing Administrative Board, the Society’s management, and its dedicated staff for their significant efforts, initiatives, and accomplishments that positively impacted the community.
At the conclusion of the meeting, attendees wished the newly elected Administrative Board success in continuing the Society’s mission, advancing its humanitarian role, and working diligently toward achieving its vision and goals. This includes strengthening awareness about the importance of premarital screening to prevent hereditary blood disorders, ensuring a safer childhood, a happier family, and a community free of genetic hemolytic diseases.
