On Tuesday, April 2, 2019, the Director and staff of the Thalassemia and Hereditary Blood Disorder Care Center welcomed a group of 12th-grade students from Al-Ishraq Educational Schools. The visit, organized by the school, aimed to introduce students to hereditary blood diseases and methods of prevention.
During the visit, the students were given a tour of the center’s facilities and learned about the free services provided to patients, as well as the key medications administered to those living with thalassemia and other hereditary blood disorders.
As part of the program, Ms. Rabab Tawfiq delivered an awareness lecture in which she highlighted the essential services offered by the Yemeni Society for Thalassemia and Hereditary Blood Disorders, and the major challenges the society faces in carrying out its humanitarian mission.
In her remarks, Ms. Ruqayya Quteinah, the school’s biology teacher, extended her gratitude to the Society for its cooperation and for facilitating educational visits that raise awareness about the dangers of thalassemia. She added:
“We were delighted to get to know your Society and the Care Center today. We witnessed the dedication of all the staff, who welcomed us warmly and generously.”
She concluded by wishing continued success and progress for both the Society and the Center in their efforts to serve patients.
