On Tuesday, 25 Jumada Al-Akhirah 1447 AH, corresponding to December 16, 2025, the Yemen Society for Thalassemia and Genetic Blood Disorders welcomed third-year secondary school students from Tamkeen Modern Schools, as part of an awareness visit aimed at introducing the disease and raising the students’ level of health awareness regarding its causes and methods of prevention.

The visit included a simplified explanation of the disease and its health and social impacts, with emphasis on the importance of premarital medical screening and its role in prevention, limiting the spread of genetic diseases, and strengthening family and community health.

This visit comes as part of the Society’s ongoing efforts to spread health awareness among students and to cooperate with educational institutions in promoting concepts of preventive healthcare and social responsibility.
