On Monday, December 30, 2019, the Yemeni Society for Thalassemia Patients hosted second-year laboratory students from the International College of Health Sciences. Dr. Mukhtar Ismail, Director of the Center for the Care of Thalassemia and Hereditary Blood Disorders, welcomed the students and introduced them to the center’s departments, needs, and the services provided to patients.
Mr. Abdullah Al-Jad’ei, Head of the Society’s Public Relations and Media Department, delivered an awareness lecture on thalassemia and hereditary blood disorders, covering their prevalence, symptoms, effects, and prevention methods. The session was attended by the group supervisor, Dr. Abdu Al-Shaibi, who praised the exceptional efforts of the Society’s administrative board and staff in caring for patients and combating these chronic diseases. He expressed admiration for the dedication, sincerity, and humanity demonstrated by everyone involved, wishing them continued success and greater achievements in eradicating this deadly disease.
