Students from the Cultural Committee at Kuwait High School and laboratory students from the Faculty of Medicine at Sana’a University made separate awareness visits to the Thalassemia and Hereditary Blood Disorders Care Center. They were warmly welcomed by the Head of the Association’s Public Relations and Media Department, Mr. Abdullah Al-Jad’i. During these visits, the students toured the center’s departments and learned about the services provided to patients.
Meanwhile, the General Manager of the Association, Mr. Jameel Ali Al-Khayati, greeted the attending students and expressed his appreciation for their eagerness to learn and understand the challenges faced by patients with thalassemia and hereditary hemolytic anemias. He urged them to become beacons of awareness in their communities by educating others about the seriousness of these chronic diseases, the importance of avoiding them, and the critical role of early medical screening before marriage as the only means to protect future generations from the risks of thalassemia and hereditary hemolytic anemias.
Mr. Al-Jad’i also delivered an educational lecture to the students on thalassemia and hereditary hemolytic anemias, their modes of transmission, risks, and methods of prevention. He emphasized that the health of just one partner is sufficient to ensure the birth of healthy children — a fact that can only be confirmed through premarital screening.
