Awareness Program on Thalassemia Risks and Prevention Held for Students of Al-Hikma University
The Health Education and Awareness Department implemented an awareness program on the risks of thalassemia and methods of prevention for dozens of students from Al-Hikma University.
This awareness initiative, which is part of the 11th Annual Awareness Campaign, targeted a group of first-year medical students.
The program, held at the Thalassemia and Hereditary Blood Disorders Care Center, included various informative and artistic segments, along with the distribution of awareness brochures about the disease.
During the event held yesterday morning, Mr. Ali Abdul Wali Thabet, Head of Branches at the Association, spoke about the key milestones in the Association’s establishment and the major services it provides to patients.
Dr. Mukhtar Ismail, Director of the Thalassemia Care Center, highlighted the importance of awareness and the vital role medical students can play in educating communities about these chronic diseases.
At the end of the event, the students toured the main departments and facilities of the Thalassemia and Hereditary Blood Disorders Care Center.
