The Ministry of Justice and Dhamar Governorate, in coordination and cooperation with the Yemeni Society for Thalassemia and Hereditary Blood Disorders, held on Wednesday, 4 Sha‘ban 1445 AH, corresponding to February 14, 2024 — as part of the training course on notarization for notaries and legal custodians from the governorates of Dhamar, Al-Dhalea, and Al-Bayda — an awareness lecture delivered by the Society’s awareness team. The lecture covered thalassemia and hereditary blood disorders, their symptoms, complications, modes of transmission, and methods of prevention. The role of legal custodians and notaries in promoting preventive measures against these diseases was also highlighted. Educational brochures were distributed to the attendees.
Mr. Jamil Ali Al-Khayati, General Manager of the Society, expressed his sincere gratitude to the Ministry of Justice and his great appreciation for this awareness initiative at the governorate level. He emphasized the importance of conveying the health message to all community members about the necessity of early screening and medical consultation before marriage, hoping for the issuance of legislation mandating this procedure.
