The General Water and Sanitation Authority in the Capital Secretariat, in coordination with the Yemeni Society for Thalassemia and Hereditary Blood Diseases, held an awareness campaign on Sunday and Monday, 1st and 2nd of Sha’ban 1445 AH, corresponding to February 11 and 12, 2024. The campaign targeted the employees of the Authority and focused on thalassemia and hereditary hemolytic anemias, their complications, risks, and methods of prevention. The event was attended by the General Director of the Authority, Engineer Mohammed Madaes, his Deputy for Administrative Affairs, Mr. Abdu Ali Al-Shami, and his Office Manager, Mr. Issam Al-Siaghi.
The Society’s management extends its sincere thanks and appreciation to the General Water and Sanitation Authority for their efforts and cooperation in raising awareness about the dangers of these hereditary diseases, which is crucial for protecting future generations from this chronic condition.
