On Tuesday, 14 Rabi’ al-Awwal 1446 AH, corresponding to September 17, 2024, the Yemeni Society for Thalassemia and Hereditary Blood Disorders welcomed fourth-year laboratory students from the International Emirates University and second-year high school female students from Khawla bint Al-Azwar School during an educational awareness visit. The visitors were introduced to the treatment center’s departments and the free services provided to patients.
The students attended an awareness lecture covering thalassemia and hereditary blood disorders, their complications, risks, and preventive measures, emphasizing the importance of early testing and premarital medical counseling. The lecture also addressed patient management procedures according to the type of disease and highlighted support for the blood donation campaign benefiting patients. The session underscored the importance of collective efforts in raising health awareness of these diseases to ensure the health and safety of future generations.
Additionally, supervisors and students from Khawla School expressed their gratitude to the Society for its efforts and presented a symbolic gift to the Society along with gifts for the children.
