The Yemeni Society for Thalassemia and Hereditary Blood Disorders, in collaboration with the National Blood Transfusion and Research Center and Al-Jazeera College of Medical and Technical Sciences, conducted the annual blood donation campaign.
Under the slogan “A Drop of Blood… To Revive a Life,” the event featured various artistic and awareness activities. Dr. Rasha Al-Noud, a researcher and volunteer at the Thalassemia Care Center, emphasized the importance of organizing such campaigns within universities, institutes, and among youth, highlighting the continuous and critical need for blood transfusions by thalassemia patients. She also stressed the vital role of premarital screening in reducing new hereditary disease cases.
Ms. Hanadi Al-Sanawi, a member of the Society’s awareness team, praised the success of the event and the positive engagement of the college students with the cause of thalassemia and hereditary blood disorders, expressing their enthusiasm for undergoing premarital screening.
The campaign, attended by several faculty members and students, was accompanied by a charitable food sale, with proceeds benefiting thalassemia and hereditary blood disorder patients.
