On Tuesday, September 3, 2019, the Yemeni Society for Thalassemia and Hereditary Blood Disorders took part in the Second Scientific Conference for Graduation Research Discussions and the Medical-Pharmaceutical-Technical Exhibition organized by Al-Jazeera College of Medical and Technical Sciences.
The conference was attended by Dr. Mukhtar Ismail, Director of the Thalassemia and Hereditary Blood Disorders Care Center, and Mr. Abdullah Al-Jad’i, Head of Media and Public Relations at the Society. During the event, Dr. Mukhtar Ismail delivered a speech outlining hereditary blood disorders, their causes, modes of transmission, and preventive measures, with particular emphasis on the importance of early medical screening before marriage. He expressed his gratitude to the college for its dedicated efforts and continuous attention to this humanitarian cause.
Dr. Hashim Hamoud Al-Maghrabi, Dean of Al-Jazeera College, expressed his sincere thanks and deep appreciation to the conference organizers. He highlighted the conference’s objective to raise awareness about the seriousness of these diseases through artistic and creative presentations by students. He also called on attendees to exert greater efforts in educating the public and spreading awareness of hereditary blood disorders across all segments of society.
The conference concluded with an award honoring the Yemeni Society for Thalassemia and Hereditary Blood Disorders in recognition of its relentless efforts to support patients and combat these chronic diseases using all available resources.
