With great pleasure, the Yemeni Society for Thalassemia and Hereditary Blood Disorders extends its sincere gratitude and appreciation to all those who have stood by the most vulnerable segments of society, particularly individuals affected by chronic diseases such as thalassemia and hereditary hemolytic anemias. We highly value your pioneering, humanitarian, and impactful national roles, as well as your sincere and constructive efforts—whether through direct or indirect support to patients—and to everyone who has helped raise awareness across all community sectors about the risks and immense suffering endured by this afflicted group.
Today marks the twentieth anniversary of the founding of our Society, which falls on April 15. Due to the exceptional circumstances our beloved country and the entire world face amid the COVID-19 pandemic, celebrations will be limited to launching an online campaign on social media platforms.
On this occasion, we renew our loyalty and dedication to serving this humanitarian cause, which deserves the concerted efforts of all official bodies and society at large to reduce the incidence of new births affected by this chronic disease. United efforts to safeguard future generations is a vital and fundamental goal; for this, proper preparation, strategic planning, goal-setting, and resource allocation are essential. This will only be achievable through heightened awareness of the issue’s importance, recognition of its severity and spread within the community, and drawing the attention of supporting entities to adopt this cause as a priority.
On this cherished occasion, we kindly invite all of you—along with your friends and professional colleagues—to actively engage with us by sharing and promoting the campaign widely. We encourage you to update your social media profiles and statuses with the campaign images that will be provided to you, accompanied by the Society’s official hashtag.
