Benefiting 3,200 Families Affected by Thalassemia
Association Implements Charity and Ramadan Iftar Program with Support from Sela Development Foundation
The Yemeni Society for Thalassemia and Hereditary Blood Diseases successfully implemented the Charity and Ramadan Iftar projects for the year 1439 AH / 2018 AD, funded and supported by the Sela Development Foundation.
The program targeted 3,200 patients with thalassemia and sickle cell anemia in Sana’a Governorate.
The implementation of the Charity and Ramadan Iftar program for patients with thalassemia, sickle cell anemia, and their families is part of the Partners Program adopted by the foundation, which covers various developmental and relief fields in the community.
In a statement, the Executive Director of the society, Mr. Jameel Ali Al-Khayati, expressed his gratitude to the Sela Development Foundation for their contribution to alleviating the suffering of patients by financing this project.
He emphasized that dedicating a special space for thalassemia and hereditary blood disease patients within the foundation’s relief programs clearly reflects the comprehensiveness of its mission.
Several patients also highlighted the importance of such initiatives, which bring them together in a friendly environment away from the atmosphere of illness, expressing their thanks and appreciation to the Sela Foundation for making this possible.
The program was carried out in three phases during the period from 19 to 25 Ramadan 1439 AH.
