The Yemeni Society for Thalassemia and Hereditary Blood Disorders, in coordination and cooperation with the National Blood Transfusion and Research Center, held a voluntary blood donation campaign today, Tuesday, 6 Dhu al-Hijjah 1443 AH / July 5, 2022 AD. The campaign aimed to support patients with thalassemia, hereditary hemolytic anemia, and other patients reliant on blood transfusions under the slogan: “A Drop of Your Blood… Gives Them Life.”
This campaign continues the Society’s ongoing efforts to secure sufficient blood supplies to meet the constant demand for this vital resource. The turnout of donors was positive, reflecting a strong response to the Society’s call.
Mr. Jameel Ali Al-Khayati, Director General of the Society, expressed gratitude to the National Blood Transfusion and Research Center for its pivotal role in providing safe blood, especially for patients suffering from hereditary hemolytic anemia and, more broadly, those dependent on blood transfusions. He also thanked all donors and staff for their efforts in alleviating the suffering of patients and their families.
