Today, Monday, February 2, 2026 (14 Sha’ban 1447 AH), the Therapeutic Center for Thalassemia and Genetic Blood Disorders welcomed students from the Laboratories Department of Palestine Modern College. This scientific and awareness-raising visit aimed to bridge the gap between academic specialization and practical, preventative reality.
During the visit, students were introduced to the center’s various departments and the services provided. They attended a lecture on Thalassemia and genetic blood disorders, covering symptoms, complications, and the vital role of premarital medical examinations as a fundamental pillar in limiting the spread of these diseases and protecting future generations.
The program organizers emphasized the professional responsibility of laboratory specialists in diagnosing the disease and contributing to the dissemination of accurate health awareness within the community. This hosting comes as part of the Yemen Society for Thalassemia and Genetic Blood Disorders (YSTH) vision to strengthen partnerships with medical educational institutions. It seeks to instill concepts of social responsibility in rising medical professionals, serving the community’s aspirations to build a safe and stable healthy environment.
