The Yemen Society for Thalassemia and Genetic Blood Disorders, in coordination and cooperation with the National Center for Blood Transfusion and Research, conducted yesterday, Monday, Sha’ban 21, 1447 AH, corresponding to February 9, 2026, a voluntary blood donation campaign for the benefit of patients with Thalassemia, genetic blood disorders, and other patients in urgent and continuous need of blood transfusions.
The campaign aimed to supply the blood bank with safe units that contribute to the continuity of treatment for Thalassemia patients, who depend on periodic blood transfusions throughout their lives. Additionally, it aimed to promote the culture of voluntary donation and solidify the values of solidarity and compassion among community members.
The campaign witnessed a remarkable humanitarian turnout from donors who answered the call with a sense of responsibility, emphasizing that blood donation is a message of life and a noble act that alleviates patients’ suffering and gives them hope to continue treatment and live with dignity.
The Society praised the response of the donors and the cooperation of the supporting parties, calling on everyone to continue supporting the blood bank and donating regularly, given its direct impact on saving patients’ lives and fostering the spirit of community solidarity.
