The Yemeni Society for Thalassemia and Genetic Blood Disorders, in collaboration with Al-Ghad International College for Health and Technical Sciences, organized an awareness campaign on Saturday, 5 Dhu al-Qi’dah 1443 AH / 4 June 2022. The campaign aimed to educate attendees on the dangers of thalassemia and hereditary hemolytic anemia, their symptoms, modes of transmission, and effective preventive measures.
Premarital medical screening was emphasized as the fundamental solution to reducing the spread of these life-threatening diseases.
The campaign witnessed strong engagement from the college students. Dr. Mukhtar Ismail, Director of the Society’s Treatment Center, delivered an informative lecture encouraging all participants to undergo early premarital medical screening.
