As part of ongoing efforts to save patients’ lives and enhance preventive measures, Yemen University, in coordination and collaboration with the National Blood Transfusion and Research Center and the Yemeni Association for Thalassemia and Hereditary Blood Disorders, organized a voluntary blood donation campaign on Monday, 29 Rajab 1444 AH / corresponding to February 20, 2023. The campaign aimed to support patients with thalassemia, hereditary blood disorders, and other individuals who rely on blood transfusions.
The initiative was preceded by an awareness campaign to educate the public about the dangers of thalassemia and hereditary blood disorders, their modes of transmission, and the most effective methods of prevention — chiefly, early screening and medical consultation before marriage.
