Awareness Department Organizes Educational Program for School Health Students at Al-Rashid Schools
The Awareness and Health Education Department at the Thalassemia and Hereditary Blood Disorders Care Center organized an educational program for a group of school health students from Al-Rashid Modern Schools.
During the program held in the Center’s conference hall, Dr. Mukhtar Ismail, the Center’s director, discussed the nature of hereditary blood disorders, their main complications, and ways to prevent them.
Dr. Ismail also addressed various topics related to thalassemia and other hereditary hemolytic anemias, urging students to undergo premarital medical screening early.
On his part, Dr. Zakaria Suleiman, the School Health Officer at Al-Rashid Modern Schools, expressed gratitude to the Center’s management for providing the opportunity to raise student awareness about the risks of thalassemia and hereditary blood disorders and preventive measures.
The school health students also visited the Thalassemia Care Center, where they met with several patients and presented them with material gifts.
