Commemorating World Thalassemia Day – May 8
On Wednesday, 29 Shawwal 1445 AH (May 8, 2024), the Yemeni Society for Thalassemia and Hereditary Blood Disorders organized a recreational event for dozens of patients as part of its celebration of World Thalassemia Day, under the theme “Be Aware. Share. Care.”
The event was held at the Magical City Entertainment Center in the Libyan Commercial Center, under the patronage of H.E. Dr. Taha Ahmed Al-Mutawakkil, Minister of Public Health and Population, and H.E. Dr. Hamoud Mohammed Obad, Mayor of the Capital Sana’a. It was attended by Dr. Anis Al-Asbahi, Spokesperson of the Ministry of Health, members of the Society’s administrative board, and several media outlets.
The event featured a warm welcome for the patients, several speeches, and joyful recreational activities that brought smiles to the faces of the children and their families.
