On, Monday, Safar 24, 1447 AH (August 18, 2025) The Yemeni Association for Thalassemia and Genetic Blood Disorders hosted a group of university students for an educational visit focused on raising awareness about thalassemia and other genetic blood disorders.
The visit included human medicine students from September 21 University and sociology students from Sana’a University, as part of the association’s ongoing efforts to educate the community.
During their tour, the students learned about the services provided at the association’s treatment center, including the provision of medications and safe blood transfusions for patients. They also attended informative lectures on the nature of thalassemia and other hereditary blood disorders, including how these diseases are genetically transmitted to children.
The association emphasized that premarital screening and medical consultation are the most effective ways to prevent these diseases, stressing that spreading awareness is a shared responsibility for everyone
